How did you become involved with “Planning for Good?” Could you briefly describe what it is for the uninformed?
People donating brain power for good.
What has happened to make business people and companies realize that they need to have a greater degree of social responsibility?
They can save money and win people’s hearts and minds.
You were quoted on “the fruits of imagination” blog as saying that “The basic idea is to use social networks to reach out to planners.” What other social networks are being used besides “Facebook” and has this been an effective way to reach out the best and brightest planners?
Good question, just Facebook at this point, but we need others.
What will make Planning for Good a success? What are some of the issues that could bring it down?
Success: Non-profits that use the network’s thinking
Failure: Apathy and an inability to organize our network
Where do you see Planning for Good a year from now?
1. It has completed 8 assignments
2. Many of its ideas get implemented
3. It’s 3,000 people strong - planners and beyond
4. Its global
5. It’s represented at the AAAA’s Planning Conference
Lastly, what do you plan on doing in New Orleans besides attending the conference? Are you a New Orleans first-timer? What are you looking forward to?
I think it’s my fourth or fifth visit
